Dear reader,
From the moment I received my first game, Forza Horizon 3, at the age of six, I became a car fanatic. Ever since then, I wanted to learn about them, how the combustion engine works, the history of famous automakers (i.e. Rolls Royce, Bugatti, Lamborghini, Ferrari, Koenigsegg), the types of engines fitted into cars (did you know that a Bugatti Veyron has a W16 engine, that is 16 pistons shoved into one tiny car). The other types of things that car manufacturers sell, like t-shirts, watches, glasses (I already had purchased the Scuderia collection, a combination between Ferrari and Ray-Ban to make a work of art), and many more things. This is why I would like to describe my passion to you and how my other pieces are related to this.
In my first piece (My Review on Need for Speed Rivals) I wanted to express my feeling for this old game that I find very special and wanted to give you every reason why I bought this game and think it was worth it. It was just a normal review of a video game, with the rating and the perks about the game and it was based on personal experience. Although I am talking about a game that anyone could have played before, I found it special because this game in particular really sparked my imagination of a vehicle-driven chaos. I still remember the revving of the engine of the beautiful Lamborghini Sesto Elemento that I would drive and risk it all experiencing mind breaking performance and power that one car can produce as it rips off the highway right into a police car. It really embodies the purpose of sports cars and what makes them so special from ordinary cars and even to this day I still play the game.
The final piece was, “The History of My Love for Cars”. Here I wanted to explain where this excitement for cars came from and how it led to my present-day car knowledge. Being a personal narrative I wanted it to sound like an autobiography, something personal, moving, and special to me. While I was writing my story I was recollecting and indulging in all the good times that memory lane had in store for me, even now I could still picture the map of Byron Bay and in all its beauty, still I enjoy hearing those car engines roar like there was no tomorrow. I found this important because it relates all my experiences and the birth of a new characteristic that I probably would have lacked if I did not have an Xbox One.
Overall the three pieces tell everything that I enjoy and what led to my love and passion for cars. People would say this is a hobby but I would say this is a lifestyle. I also would like to let you know that some of the terms I use might not make any sense because I am probably talking about different car companies, models, and vehicle parts. I could be sounding like a knowledgeable person when it comes to cars but as it turns out I am just at the tip of the iceberg. There is still a lot for me to learn such as how superchargers work or how spoilers function to improve the grip. In the end I just want you, the reader, to enjoy and appreciate the vast beauty there is in cars and car history.
Signing off,
Archit Singh
